Military & Defense RF Materials for Radar, Electronic Warfare, and ISR Systems

Military and defense missions are becoming increasingly complex, with multi-platform and multi-domain operations driving demand for advanced RF and antenna technologies. As ISR, radar, electronic warfare (EW), and counter-UAS systems continue to evolve, material performance plays a critical role in achieving electromagnetic spectrum dominance. WavePro® ceramic-filled PTFE dielectrics and laminates provide ultra-low loss performance, customizable dielectric constants, and manufacturing flexibility for high-performance RF systems while enabling SWaP-C (Size, Weight, Power, and Cost) reduction.

Available with Dk/εr from Dk 2.0 to 20.4+, WavePro materials can be manufactured into custom laminates, antenna components, RF lenses, radomes, and other engineered solutions for demanding military and defense applications.

Radar

Whether the design is an X-band AESA radar for precise targeting or a long-range L-band for tracking, WavePro is an excellent choice for phased array antennas. Our laminates/ PCBs feature custom copper cladding, thickness, and dielectric constant in order to offer greater design freedom and more opportunities for optimization.

Counter-UAS

Before drones and drone swarms can be neutralized, the first step for any counter-drone system is detection and tracking. Radar and RF sensors are the key sub-systems that provide drone detection capabilities. With an ultra-low loss tangent, WavePro delivers the performance needed for fast, accurate drone detection.

Tactical Electronic Warfare (EW)

Recent conflicts have highlighted the relevance of resilient GPS and anti-jamming antennas. This is just one aspect of EW, which ranges from signals intelligence and multi-spectral situational awareness to electronic countermeasures and more. WavePro is a versatile material with use cases across RF circuits, radomes, antennas, and lenses, and its design flexibility is well suited to EW applications.

Mobile Systems

RF sub-systems deployed on mobile platforms, vehicles, or vessels often require optimization for size, weight, power consumption, or cost. And sometimes for all of the above.
WavePro, with a Dk up to 20.4, enables new and highly compact RF designs to meet low SWaP-c specifications.

Component Manufacturing

By leveraging milling, molding, sintering, and other manufacturing techniques, WavePro dielectrics and laminates can be formed into complex structures.
